Business Intelligence Developer is required for a leading multi national organisation based in Cork City

Our Clients with labs in both Cork and Galway focuses on the software development and deployment of Tivoli Netcool products in the Wireless Performance Management space.

We are offering a new opportunity at either their Cork or Galway locations for an experienced and dynamic Business Intelligence candidate to design & develop Cognos reports for Tivoli common reporting.

The BI developer will be involved with Full Life Cycle activities and deliverables.

It is essential that candidates have extensive Business Intelligence Reporting experience (Cognos, Business Objects), procedural SQL, and relational database knowledge.

Preferred candidates should have data modelling, UNIX, PL/SQL, and experience with service management enterprise level products.

Responsibilities will include:

> working with stakeholders to determine functional report requirements

>writing functional specifications/user stories based on user specifications and pre-existing reports, development, customization

>testing of reports using the Cognos suite of products.

Ideally candidates should have experience with Cognos 8, data modelling and Cognos architecture.

Candidates should have strong communication skills and will have worked in similar roles for 3 to 4 years in one or more of the following areas:
• Data Modelling / database design
• Reporting (Cognos, Business Objects, ?)
• RDBMS (DB2, Oracle, SQL Server)

Job requirements:

Bachelors Degree

* At least 2 years experience in writing and customizing reports using Cognos or BO
* At least 2 years experience in data modelling using modelling tools
* At least 2 years experience in working with relational databases
* English Fluent

Preferred

Masters Degree
* At least 2 years experience in writing and customizing reports using Cognos 8
* At least 3 years experience in data modelling using modelling tools
* At least 3 years experience in working with relational databases
