A Limerick based multinational company requires a Facilities Manager. They are looking for an experienced data center facilities professional to provide day-to-day oversight and management of its Limerick based data center facility.

MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

Project Coordination: Responsible for the planning, design, and implementation of projects including project scope development, financial oversight, scheduling, and communication. Provides expert consultation and technical lead for both design and development of data center projects. Verifies facility construction and maintenance plans, performing engineering design evaluations, and identifying resources needed to ensure projects completes on time, budget, and scope.

Planning: This position shall provide the technical expertise in the development of the Data Center Infrastructure (Mechanical & Electrical) maintenance. This will require extensive technical and communication skills when working with internal customers and staff as well as external resources. This position shall be responsible for organizing all aspects of maintenance and the successful completion of said maintenance.

Operations Support: Coordinates projects and programs that support the maintenance of buildings and critical infrastructure systems (Generators, UPS systems, Battery Systems and Building Management Systems). Assures the proper commissioning and optimal functioning of building systems including mechanical, fire/life safety, elevators etc. May oversee contractors for facilities renovation and operations projects. Will be responsible for the development and implementation detailed operational procedures required to deliver projects in this mission critical environment.

Maintenance: Will be required to self perform various maintenance activities.

RESPONSIBILITY FOR WORK OF OTHERS

Requires ability to manage multiple projects at once including coordinating work efforts of internal and external resources as needed. Has the ability to coordinate the work efforts, including contracting for and leading resources within the facilities department, external contractors, and clients to support the requirements of a program. Can provide these functions with minimal direct supervision.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Has direct control over the development and implementation of program budgets with minimal supervision. Provides all detailed financial tracking to insure programs are completed within the financial requirements as outlined by the program scope.

Education:

  • Undergraduate degree in the appropriate technical field
  • Journeyman Electrical / Mechanical a plus.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Ability to work with senior management of the companies businesses in the defining of project requirements.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues.
  • Ability to coordinate projects and maintenance programs to insure that all elements of work meet the quality standards, defined scope, and costs.
  • Ability to manage projects / maintenance programs from concept development through implementation.
  • Ability to lead and direct the work of others without the benefit of a direct reporting relationship.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Exhibits a wide degree of creativity and latitude.
  • Ability to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

· Ability to travel 10% of time to other facility sites in order to coordinate work activities

  • A great attitude with internal customers and external parties, excellent written and verbal communications skills, stellar Internet and computing skills, and the ability to provide leadership and oversight to the facilities team employed at the data center.

Previous Experience:

  • 2+ years of project management experience.
