Leading Technology firm with a facility based in Shannon is currently recruiting for a Desktop Support Technician.
Responsibilities include:
- 1st level sustaining support to 200-300 users.
- Diagnosis and resolution of all Operating System and Hardware.
- Break/fix problems on server platforms across the IT environment.
- Provide excellent customer service - a complete and acceptable service from detecting the initial problem, tracking in the correct manner, working to a final solution. Customer communication is a key facet of the role.
- Building servers to Platform Reference Design Standards, installing in IT computer rooms, registering in Asset Management. Closing out with customers in regards to Service Level agreement etc.
- Contribute to multi-functional project teams. When required working with Analysts or subject matter experts to complete projects and/or working on individually assigned projects.
- External Vendor escort and Physical touch for remote teams and coordination of these activities in the region.
Technical Skills:
- Ideally have an IT qualification and gained 2 years experience in a support role
- Competence in troubleshooting and resolving Operating Systems issues in particular Windows 2003 & Windows 2008 on both Physical and Virtual Platforms
- Knowledge of Server Hardware troubleshooting
