Desktop Support Engineer

Excellent contract opportunity for an experienced 2nd line support engineer to join a large corporate environment in an entirely Microsoft Windows based environment.

You should have Strong client facing skills and a proven track record of providing support to external corporate clients in an efficient and timely manner.

This large scale environment will produce a broad range of technical issues from Windows Desktop to LAN/WAN to video/audio and hardware.

Role / opportunity:

  • Dublin city based role
  • 6 month rolling contract
  • Working with an experienced 2nd and 3rd line technical support team
  • Microsoft Windows environment both desktop and server
  • Supporting Windows XP, Office 2007, Lotus Notes, LAN, WAN, BackupExec, VOIP, Cisco Phones, Windows Active Directory
  • Working to clear SLA’s
  • Screen, analyse, prioritise and undertake site based related incident resolution

Skills / experience:

  • 3+ years commercial technical support experience
  • Strong Windows XP Desktop support skills
  • Windows Server skills are of interest
  • Proven experience supporting; Office 2007, Lotus Notes, LAN, WAN, BackupExec, VOIP, Cisco Phones, Windows Active Directory
  • Proven experience of working with an external service provider dealing with external customers
  • Networking knowledge LAN/WAN
  • Strong customer interaction skills and attitude

Package:

  • Daily rate contract of €180-240 per day
