IT Operations Engineer / Systems Engineer excellent company

World leading Software As A Service company with a growing Dublin city centre based team require an IT Operations Engineer / Systems Engineer with a Linux background and experience of supporting high availability production environment.

This is a particularly varied role which will include; creating scripts, applying patches and updates (manually or using BladeLogic), ensuring the Enterprise Business Services run reliably, executing and monitoring the processes that keep the SAAS service up and running in all environments - production, development, QA, training, etc.

Skills / experience:

  • Deep experience highly desirable.
  • Experience in operating and supporting on-demand Internet-based systems.
  • Strong Linux admin and shell scripting skills.
  • Strong experience deploying and operating MySQL or equivalent RDBMS
  • Basic networking TCP/IP networking from the Linux end is helpful (read netstat, configure IPTables, do SSH tunneling, etc).
  • Experience with BladeLogic or Opsware for application deployment a plus.
  • Strong documentation skills
