Information Technology Systems Manager (Contract Position - Maternity Cover)
Reporting to Head of IT, based in Cork, as Systems Manager you will lead a team of IT specialists supporting key business applications and systems running in a customer contact centre environment.
You will have proven success within a service desk or support environment. Your project delivery and communication skills will be excellent and you strive to meet all deliverables. You will enjoy working in a highly customer focused organisation. You are a flexible team player who enjoys building effective relations within an organisation as well as mastering new technologies and processes. You are equally comfortable demonstrating business value of your team through the production of timely KPI focused reports as you are through face to face discussions and negotiations with business management.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years IT experience, 5 or more of which were in a service oriented IT Management position. You are available to start in January 2010.
Your team will support business solutions running on the following technical platforms:
- Nortel Telephony (VoIP) and Networking (WAN/LAN)
- Oracle Databases
- Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems, Blades, SAN
- Microsoft Exchange and mail management applications
- Security solutions
- Other third party vendor applications
Your core responsibilities will be:
1) Production Operations Management
Responsibilities:
- IT Helpdesk / Service Desk Management
- Incident, Problem and Release management
- Managing in house technical support teams
- Working alongside Group IT in relation to production infrastructure support
- Managing third party support and maintenance contracts for key systems
- Operations reporting, Operations and Service Level Agreement management, budgeting
- Daily operations checks, nightly and monthly batch management
2) Project Delivery and Programme Management
Responsibilities:
- Maintenance and enhancement projects for all key platforms
- Capacity, Data Centre, Security, Change, Architecture, Business Continuity Management
- Database upgrades and patching
3) Team Leadership
Responsibilities:
- Human Resource line management for 9 person team
- Administration of Monthly Performance Related Bonus schemes
