Java Developer, J2EE, Spring, AJAX, Agile - Dublin

A leading international corporate client requires a talented Java developer to join a small software development team working on robust Internet applications for public consumption.

The team practice Agile methods, use an open-source software stack and make technology decisions through team consultation. Candidates should be comfortable working in a highly concurrent multi-threaded environment. As well as strong core Java, excellent communication and problem-solving skills will be required.

The key skills and experience required include the following:

  • At least 4 years commercial Java experience
  • Exceptional core Java Knowledge of Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, JSP, and HTTP, some SQL knowledge (MS SQL Server) and design skills, OOP, OOD, Design Patterns
  • Experience writing integration and unit tests

The ‘ideal’ candidate will also have exposure to:

  • Spring, Hibernate, AJAX, JSP, Servlets, Ant.
  • Prior experience working with one or more MVC frameworks
  • Good knowledge of agile methods and test-driven development
  • Experience of working with highly transactional customer-facing Websites or services
