Junior Java Development & Software Support

Junior Java development role which is a mix of support and core Java development and a fantastic opportunity for an inexperienced software engineer with 1 to 3 years experience to join a world leading multinational software development company who are a leading light in Java development.

You should have a solid grounding in Java and some of; Enterprise Service Bus, XML/Schema, Servlet containers, REST, Spring, XSLT/STX, MySQL.

You must speak English fluently for this role as there will be extensive client interaction as you work to reproduce, diagnose and solve customer problems while also contribute to the development of products. Working with a world leading engineering team will offer you unrivalled technical exposure and accelerate your career massively.

This is initially a 6 month contract with the expectation of conversion to permanent role.

Role / opportunity:

  • Java Software Development and Java Software Support
  • Technical environment of; ESB, XML/Schema, Servlet containers, REST, Spring, XSLT/STX, MySQL
  • Working in the cloud computing / software as a service arena
  • Working with a world leading engineering team delivering a strategic product for a hugely successful international software company
  • Agile, test-driven development environment
  • Core product development in Java
  • Supporting the product through reproducing, diagnosing and solving problems
  • Client interaction is a part of this role

Skills / experience:

  • Min of 1-3 years commercial Java development experience
  • Experience using middleware & integration technologies: ESB, XML/Schema, Servlet containers, REST, Spring, XSLT/STX, MySQL.
  • Computer Science degree or similar degree
  • Understand and have used development tools and IDEs: SVN/Clearcase, JIRA
  • Quick learner, motivated to understand and master the ESB product suite
