The area: Localization

As our Client continues to expand its reach around the world, our Localization team makes the company’s ideas and products look, feel and sound natural in every country where people use our services and products. The company has been localized into more than 100 languages, our advertising and consumer products are available in 40 languages — and we’re adding more content, products and languages all the time. We collaborate with international Engineering, Product and Marketing teams to steer products through the localization process and ensure successful launches across the globe. The role: Localization Project Manager

As a Localization Project Manager, your primary responsibility will be to work with Engineers, Product Managers, Content Authors and Marketing Managers to deliver content and products on time and with high linguistic quality to users all over Africa. You’re a self-starter, proactive, collaborative and dedicated to meeting deadlines and producing results, and you thrive in a fast-paced, culturally diverse environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive localization project management for African languages, including resource allocation, scheduling and risk management.
  • Work with Engineers, Product Managers, Content Authors and Marketing Managers located all over the world.
  • Implement and maintain best-of-class processes, procedures and tools that will assist with the localization of updates, new features and country launches.

Requirements:

  • BA or BS degree, or the foreign language equivalent, in languages/linguistics or translation and/or a relevant technical field.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience (experience in localization or translation preferred).
  • Ability to think strategically and contribute to vendor strategy, process improvement and other department initiatives.
  • Strong communication skills and cross-functional leadership skills.

Track record of managing complex projects involving outside resources
