NCCM SQA Engineer is required for a leading multi national organisation based in their Dublin office. The role is full time and permanent.
Our Clients is a major multi national blue chip organisation within the IT Sector, their European Head Quarters based in West Dublin with there further satellite offices based throughout the country. The successful candidate will work on products in the Wireless Performance Management space.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to test products / to verify conformance with technical specifications in accordance with direction from the team leader. This includes responsibilities related to test planning, test execution, logging defects, and verifying fixes.
Have the ability to assist with implementation of test systems and team administration.
knowledge of the testing status of the test area they have been allocated, the success and failure of specific areas and an understanding of the outstanding work and remaining time needed on their assigned area. You should have the ability to ensure that the project leader is kept up to date with the status of testing.
The NCCM SQA Engineer will be responsible for:
· Independently detailing test cases, executing and completing test plans assigned to you.
· Ensuring that any errors in the test cases are corrected as soon as viable.
· Constructing test sets based on the functional requirements.
· Ensuring that all test cases are updated with test results as they are executed.
· Automating test cases for future regression testing.
· Identifying the scope of your work and objectives and negotiating the workload and schedule with your team lead/line manager.
· Attempting to independently solve issues, and for appropriate escalation when your own attempts have been exhausted.
· Adhering to the quality procedures in place.
· Communicating and negotiating directly with development where appropriate to resolve issues found during testing.
Ideal candidates must have experience in Software Quality Assurance/functional software testing using standard testing techniques & methodologies. This experience should be demonstrable on a variety of projects involving both individual and team based projects, ideally including working on a globally dispersed team. Additionally, evidence of ability to manage conflicting and/or changing priorities is desired as well as experience of time management and working to deadlines. Experience of working in a Unix/Linux environment including basic system administration activities
Proficiency in some of the following technologies is highly desirable:
· Test Automation technologies: Rational Test automation products (particularly: RFT), STAF/STAX
· Scripting/Programming languages: Java, Perl, Bash, Python/Jython, etc.
· Linux : RedHat Enterprise Linux v4+ and/or SUSE Enterprise Linux v9+
· Unix: Solaris 9 and later, AIX 5.3 and later, HP-UX 11 and later
· Windows: 2003 and later
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree
Ideally more then 3 years experience in Software Quality Assurance/functional software
Ideally more then 3 years experience of working in a Unix/Linux environment including basic system administration activities
English: Fluent
