Operations Manager required for a leading technology multi national based in Co Kildare.
Primary Function:
To lead an team of 5 supervisors and 3 engineers and an operation of 120 employees made up of operators, technicians and engineers, to ensure that Final Assembly meets cost, quality and availability goals that are set by the business.
Major Responsibilities
· Maintain equipment and create processes that enable Production, Maintenance and Engineering to work safely and effectively
· Maintain culture of safety.
· Work with planning department in committing to schedule over short, medium and long term horizons.
· Lead the group to effectively focus on continuous improvement of Operational metrics
· Develop and execute strategies that drive Equipment improvements and ensure these strategies guarantee the production of high quality products
· Meet or exceed manufacturing cost targets by creating high yield processes, reducing non value steps, streamlining operations and improving productivity.
· Execute capacity plans to enable the department to meet its business objectives, ensuring that equipment is capable
· Work with our sister sites to insure world wide availability of ink jet cartridges is met
· Develop future looking strategies for the department and meet the long term direction of the business
· Manage a team of Supervisors and motivate, coach and mentor them to maximize performance of operation
· Foster personnel development within team.
· Budget for expenditure of the Department.
· Structure start up activities for process introduction.
· Develop on training structure currently in place.

· Irish safety recordable incidents
· Meet all operational KPI’s for the operation.
· Meet project deadlines
· Meet and exceed Cost / Yield stretch targets
· Build to schedule accuracy
· Productivity metrics
· Equipment downtime
· Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
· Employees survey results and attrition level.
Candidate Profile:
Must have a minimum of 7 years management experience in a high volume automated manufacturing environment
Degree or equivalent in Engineering/Science or a business qualifications.
Knowledge and experience of 6 Sigma, Lean manufacturing techniques
Demonstrated experience in Capacity management, Large organizational management
Experience in change management
Knowledge and experience in Project management
