Oracle / SQL Server Database Developer Designer
Opportunity for a Development DBA with strong SQL skills and a background with Oracle or SQL Server or Sybase or DB2 or Ingress or Informix to take on a role focused on designing relational database solutions for a variety of business needs.
This is an internal role within a long standing international financial services organization which will offer the opportunity to progress a Data Architecture / Database Architecture / Technical Architecture role.

You should have designed a database structure within a database development project and probably have used a data modelling tool of some sort (such as; ERWin, DataArchitect, InfoSphere, SQL Developer, Visio, Oracle Designer, Power Designer or similar).

This is a mid level role and will be working with senior architects that will be able to guide and advise on architectural issues. As you design database solutions you will then working with external development partners to build the databases and quality check the work the external development partners produce.

You should know the difference between DML and DDL, creating the design specs through DDL.

Role / opportunity:
• Database Design Engineer / Functional Data Analyst / Development DBA / Junior Database Architect role
• Designing structures of databases at a logical practical level
• Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, DB2, Ingress, Informix background would be of interest
• Working with external development partner to build the databases
• In this role you will go to technical level but will not need to be the engineer
• You will learn all about Master Data Management (MDM)
• Liaising with business and business analysts, international development teams, technical architects and senior software engineers

Skills / experience:
• 5+ years commercial experience with relational databases
• Experience as a Development DBA or Database Designer or Database Architect, or Data Engineer
• Understanding of core principles of database design, such as; normalisation, table structure, referential integrity, data integrity, relationships, foreign key constraints
• Strong SQL skills and TAOD would be advantageous
• Experience with BI tools (Busines Objects, Cognos, Oracle Discoverer, Brio, Essbase), Crystal Reports, reporting tools etc is a bonus

• €50-58K salary + bonus + pension + VHI
