Senior Database Administrator
Urgent position for Senior SQL DBA. We are looking to recruit a self-starting, creative and innovative Senior DBA .Based in our Dublin office, this role requires an enthusiastic person who is committed to the role and sets their own priorities. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in an open, dynamic environment and collaborate closely with business users at all levels and serve a key role in designing, developing and maintaining complex and innovative reinsurance and insurance related databases. Strong standardisation and documentation skills will be critical in this role.

Responsibilities and Duties
Including but are not limited to:
? Monitor, maintain and upgrade large numbers of databases across multiple locations
? Troubleshoot and support large complex databases
? Performance profile and tune databases
? Liaise with developers and business users and prioritisation of responsibilities
? Define, document and implement data standards
? Ensure compliance with relevant company standards and guidelines

Education
? Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience

Experience
? Minimum of 5-7 years experience as a DBA in a SQL environment is essential
? Experience in working in a multi- national organisation spread across multiple time zones
? Must have previous experience of working with very large databases
? Experience with database replication and database refactoring
? Multi environment experience (development, testing, QA, production) including deployment and release management
? Data warehousing experience and experience with high availability environments would be an advantage

Required Knowledge and Skills
? Very strong SQL Database Maintenance (SQL Server 2005/2008)
? Excellent analytic, communication and interpersonal skills
? Experience designing complex database structures
? Data Standards and Documentation experience
? An in-depth understanding of hardware specification and configuration
? Proven knowledge and understanding of good database principals
? Experience with ETL tools and techniques
? Skilled in disaster recovery planning
? Knowledge of reinsurance and financial business practices would be an advantage
