Senior Technical Consultant /Project Manager

As part of the Service Delivery Team based in the company’s technology innovation centre you will; design, manage, and implement diverse and complex solutions for customers. Project Manage technical client facing projects and have the authority to do things your way.

Role / opportunity:

  • Technical Consultant and Project Manager
  • Design, manage, and implement diverse and complex solutions for external customers
  • Manage customer expectations and guide them through projects
  • Evaluate problems / issues through an understanding of business impact analysis techniques
  • Tackling a broad range of technical issues and being creative when designing solutions
  • Working with IBM hardware technology (both servers and SAN)
  • Mentoring of less experienced team members

Required Skills / experience:

  • 5+ years experience in delivering technology projects
  • Must be technically strong across a broad range of technology areas with IBM Tivoli SAN
  • 2+ years experience of a similar customer facing hands-on role
  • Experience with project management, change control, issue & risk management, and project reporting
  • Must also possess excellent communication skills, both spoken and written
  • Ability to work as a team player and as an individual
  • Educated to Diploma or Degree level
  • IT Certification desirable i.e. IBM CATE etc
  • Tivoli Storage Manager
  • IBM AIX / pSeries / LPAR / VIOServer / HACMP
  • Storage Area Networks (Disk, Tape & Virtualisation)

Desirable skills:

  • IBM SVC / TPC / Director
  • VMware
  • Citrix / Wyse Thin Client Solutions
  • Cisco / 3COM Networking (Routers, Firewalls, Switches etc)
  • Microsoft Windows Server, Linux (Red Hat AS, SUSE, Debian)
  • HP-UX, Solaris
  • Commvault, Veritas Net Backup, Legato

Package:
