The successful candidate will join the Reporting, Application & Systems
Development Team (RAS). The RAS team is currently responsible for
maintaining the various systems which provide the key reporting for IDC Dublin as well as developing the next generation of systems to be deployed.
The goal of the team is to provide highly accurate data with reliable systems while building towards an automated, integrated single solution.
In the past year, the team have begun to develop systems for other IDCs and that work continues today with RAS at the forefront of this initiative with the support of the IDC Design Authority at a global level. The RAS Team is also responsible for the provision of reports and applications (notes and web based) to assist in the running of the IDC Operation.
This role requires a broad range of capabilities such as programming ability, business acumen, organisational skills, proficiency in working on your own as well as part of the larger team and it demands a high level of flexibility and commitment. You will need to have a proven track record in your existing role with a strong focus on data accuracy and reliability in addition to both written and verbal communication skills (English). Some aspects of the role may also require proven interpersonal skills depending on the nature of available work and contact opportunities with high level personnel within the company.
This includes knowledge about structure, key performance indicators, SLAs, critical IDC tools & systems,telephony information and business challenges.
It is a tremendous advantage if you have experience of the software development processes and life cycle from requirements gathering through to project delivery.
In order to meet the existing and growing reporting, application and systems development requirements, the RAS Team manager is currently looking for a specialist to join the team.
Requirements
- Java: collections, design patterns, database queries.
- SQL: basic queries, simple administration, stored procedures, table structure, primary & foreign keys.
- Web Development, : Web frameworks,HTML, CSS, javascript, user interface design, JSPs / ASPs, servlets, JQuery/JS frameworks.
- XML: parsing, general structure, basic usage.
- UML: use cases, flow diagrams, domain models, class models.
- DB2: Application of SQL fundamentals, basic DB2 management, performance handling.
- Java Frameworks: Spring, Hibernate, Jasper.
- Previous experience in development or reporting.
- Proven track record of data accuracy, efficiency improvements and excellence of delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (English).
- Proficiency with usage of office productivity suites (MS Office, Lotus Symphony).
- Ability to work effectively under pressure (especially when working with IDC critical systems).
