Linux focused System Administrator - Dublin City Centre

New and exciting opportunity for an experienced IT Systems Engineer with strong Linux administration skills to join a highly successful and rapidly growing international software company ensuring the enterprise business services of this SaaS company run smoothly. Working closely with US team of Operation Engineers you will be upgrading, patching, executing and monitoring processes that keep the global 24×7 up and running.

Working as part of this growing operations support function you will be ensuring all environments are live (production, development, test, training etc) which will require you do to everything from creating scripts to applying patches and updates both manually and using BladeLogic.

You must have a genuine enthusiasm for your job and be an upbeat character to fit with this ambitious US culture in the business that is growing rapidly and profitably.

Role / opportunity:

  • Supporting large scale, high availability web based environments
  • Linux administration and Shell scripting
  • Applying patches, upgrades, executing and monitoring business critical processes
  • Working across all environments; production, development, test, training etc
  • Doing basic networking tasks as part of the job
  • Growing the team of engineers based in Dublin city centre

Skills / experience:

  • 4+ years commercial Systems Administration / Systems Support experience
  • Strong Linux administration and Shell scripting experience
  • Strong experience with MySQL (or equivalent RDBMS)
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Experience of supporting high availability systems is a significant advantage
