VMware Consultant contract
Immediate contract requirement for an experienced VMware Engineer to join an international financial services focused organization in the city centre as they undertake a number of key projects. With more that 30 hardware environments to be virtualized there is significant P2V work to be done while also establishing a new VM Farm, building the structure and driving the virtualization of Windows Servers, Linux Servers, AIX Servers, HP-UX Servers and Solaris servers.

With a high hardware foot print to be virtualized as much as possible while ensuring high availability of all environments and systems across 3 different technology stacks.

Role / opportunity:
• VMware virtualization role
• Virtualisation of more than 30 hardware environments
• Building a VM Farm with more than 300 active environments
• Add additional hosts to VM Farm
• Replicating topology of an existing data centre in two other global datacenters , all are high avaiability
• Working on WAN SAN networking projects
• Moving large numbers of Servers and PC’s with minimal down time

Skills / experience:
• 5+ years commercial VMware experience
• Experience of building a VM Farm from design up
• Extensive P2V experience of Windows, Linux, AIX, HP-UX, Solaris
• Proven background of designing and managing data centers SAN, WAN, Cisco, Juniper Firewalls
• Strong Networking background
